What is the first thing you drink as soon as you get up?
For most people it’s COFFEE and lot’s of it.
While coffee has it’s benefits before you drink anything you should have a big glass of water with real lemon added.
Here Are 3 Reasons Why You Should Start Your Day With Lemon Water :
1. Hydration first thing in the morning is very important.
After sleeping it’s easy to wake up dehydrated. This can lead to feeling achy and also lead to not thinking clearly. As well if you have any lower back issues or pain training early in the morning when dehydrated can be a very bad thing.
2. Lemons Contain Vitamin C
Not a very high amount, but 30-50 mg per lemon. They also contain potassium which is very important.
Drinking lemon water first thing in the morning gives the body a chance to absorb these vitamins effectively and can provide a little immune boost.
Vitamin C is also good for the adrenals and can potentially help reduce the affects of stress.
3. Improve Weight Loss
There is evidence that drinking water, especially lemon water, first thing in the morning can help maintain a healthy weight. Researchers in Germany found that drinking enough water increased metabolism
“After drinking approximately 17 ounces of water, the subjects’ metabolic rates — or the rate at which calories are burned — increased by 30% for both men and women. The increases occurred within 10 minutes of water consumption and reached a maximum after about 30 to 40 minutes.”
