Tip : Hold Your Breath When You Bench Press

Here is a simple tip for a stronger and safer bench press.

When you bench heavy (what I consider 1-5 reps) you want to take a big breath into your chest and hold your breath.

Far too often I see women they will breath out when they bench press.

Do not to do this.

Here is a simple rule for most women when they bench press.

“If the bar is moving you are not breathing”.

Take a big breath into your chest and hold your breath.  This will make your bench press stronger and safer.

There are some advanced techniques of breathing out at a certain point in the bench press but for the most part if the bar is moving you are not breathing.

Take a big breath, hold it then bench press.

Give it a try and let me know how you find it.
